Designation: Desktop Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive Desktop Engineer to join our IT support team. This role involves comprehensive desktop support, managing Windows Server environments, deploying and managing Sophos security products, and handling various networking tasks.


Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware
and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
• Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PC, including the installation of CPUs, I/O
and NIC cards, hard disks, RAM, memory chips, and so on.
• Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, then provide performance statistics
and reports.
• Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, network cards, and
other components and equipment.
• Administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation network software products.
• Configure firewalls (Sophos), routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.



Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Desktop Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, or similar role.
• Experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Knowledge of Sophos security solutions and general cybersecurity best practices.
• Familiarity with networking systems and technology, including DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in a Windows desktop and server environment.

- Team Management

• Manage the day-to-day activities of a team.
• Ensuring leaves are managed judiciously so there is no risk in delivering files within TAT.
• Ensuring team members are fully trained and equipped to complete the tasks assigned to them.
• Identify and groom prospective leaders from the team.

- Performance Management
